There are so many kinds of journals out there, Art Journals, Smash books, etc. What is a junk journal?
Well there are many different views on what a junk journal is….it’s not the junk you put in it or the junk you journal about. I like to think it is about a place to put all your paper keepsakes (ephemera) together in one place and use them as a platform for inspiration. You do not even need to journal if that is not your sort of thing. It can be just a book of Images, memories and Inspiration for the future or the past. You can add your thoughts and inspiration how it best reflects you!
In this class we will learn the freedom of just about anything goes. We will start a vintage inspired Junk Journal, using new and vintage papers along with Melissa Frances new chipboard embellishments and Flea Market Finds. We will concentrate mostly on the Cover but will start to work on the inside time permitting. One the cover we will also be working with Art Anthology’s Mixed Media products.
You will leave inspired and with a Junk Journal just ready to add on too!

Learn to incorporate the new craze of mixed media into your everyday layouts, featuring the inspiration of products, from Melissa Frances and Art Anthology. Can’t find the perfect paper for you photos? In this class you will learn how to create your own textured backgrounds to best suit your photos. You will have 2 fabulous 12 x 12 backgrounds that are sure to bring you inky fingers and lots of joy! Please note that this kit also includes various embellishments you can play with and add to your layouts at a later date. ( As your layouts will need time to dry)

This Melissa Frances funky mixed media book is going to show off the MIXED in your mixed media! You will be working with many surfaces including wood, chipboard, metal and paper. You will also be working with the awesome Art Anthology Paints, inks, stencils and texture paste. Along with Melissa Frances’ stencils,metal stencils, New Wood embellishments, Chipboard accents and Flea Market finds.
You can add your photo’s later, or use as an Art journal with the ability to add more pages along the way.

Not So Shabby Pocket Envelope Album

Its true we are going to make an album from envelops. You will love this technique! In class you will take 6 envelopes and make a 12 page pocket album. Once you learn how do this this you will be hooked. Mini albums can be so expensive to make but this technique is very economical and is a great base to any album project you may have. In class you will also learn that there is more than one way to make these so the possibilities are endless. Time permitting we will start to decorate your finished album with Melissa Frances papers and embellishments. Color instructions will be provided so you can complete your album after class if need be. Plus a bonus link to a video!
As a bonus we have added 6 pull out tabs.

Oh So Shabby Flowers

Fabric flowers are everywhere… on album covers, lapels, lamp shades and pillows to name a few. In class you will make THREE beautiful flowers using new and vintage fabric. You can add ribbon to make it over the top for that Oh So Shabby look! (some ribbon will be provided) Trust me you will be hooked! These flowers will be beautiful as they are but if you have some bling or buttons to add to the centers, it will help to make them your own. Centers can be adding during class, or later. If you would like to bring your own (optional – fabric is provided) fabric scraps make sure they are at least 6” wide x 6´high. Please note these finished flowers sell in boutique stores from 12.99 to 19.99 each!
