Mountain Brook Spot Color Perspective
(Mt. Brook Perspctv.)
Instructor: Tonya Weakley; Sponsored by: Peddlers Den
This technique class is built on the art principle that things that are far away appear lighter (smaller and less distinct). We will be teaching you to use this principle.
Leave class with: A scene/card plus new knowledge. You will also take home a stamp set (new or used) that you use in class.
Skill level: All Levels
Supplies: Assorted dye ink pads (yellows, greens, browns and black). Pigment and hybrid ink will NOT work. Additionally bring scissors, medium sized acrylic blocks, a handle to use with your blending ovals, permanent tape runner or permanent double sided scotch tape, and wet wipes. If you prefer to use very small blending brushes (instead of ovals) you may, but your results will vary. Please contact Tonya in advance if you have questions: 256-660-0999.

Watercolor For Card Makers
(Watercolor For Card )
Instructor: Tonya Weakley; Sponsored by: Peddlers Den
This class is designed to help stampers/card makers explore the use of watercolor on A2 size cards. In this class you will have the opportunity to work on florals and a landscape, using 2 different types of paper suitable for watercolored cards. Your kit will include various images on 2 types of paper. While we only have 1 hour together, you will explore the differences with me. I expect each person to have their own favorites, but my goal is to introduce you to some of the options, and help you understand them. The photo shows examples of what you can do, although embellishment and assembly are not part of the class. We will spend the entire class time exploring watercolor papers and technique.
Leave class with: You will begin several cards, but likely not finish, as you learn watercolor techniques.
Skill level: All Levels
Supplies: Paper towels or rag (for cleaning brushes between colors), and at least one small water brush. Having 2 or 3 is beneficial. The water brush(es) need to be small tip/brushes suitable for detail work, and must not leak. Please test yours prior to class. Also bringing a small container of water. Your kit will include a paint brush that is not a water brush, and you may need to refill your water brushes.
